Climate Controlled Storage Units

Temperature extremes and varying humidity can cause problems with sensitive items, which is why we offer climate-controlled storage units. These units help protect furniture, wood, fabrics, paper products and much more all year-round. Find these units at Sanford and Millenia.

Indoor Storage Units

Offering indoor storage units adds more protection and security to your stored items, plus it keeps you out of the weather whenever you visit your storage unit. Find indoor storage at Sanford and Millenia.

Vehicle Storage

Being in central Florida is like being in the middle of a great adventure. Rivers, lakes, and nature preserves surround Sanford, and ocean beaches are just a short drive away. Whatever type of vehicle you're using to explore these natural wonders, we have the storage options you need for your basecamp in Sanford.

Car Storage

Whether you collect classic cars, have more cars than you have garage space in your home or apartment, or need storage while you're traveling, Store Space has you covered.

Drive-up storage units (typically 10x20 or larger) can also be used as can outdoor parking. Find car storage at Sanford.

Motorcycle Storage

One advantage to living in the area is that motorcycles can be used throughout the year (more so than in the northern states), however, you still might need to park the bike during the rainy season or on the hottest summer days.

If that's the case, rent a drive-up storage unit (at least 5x10). Side by sides and three-wheeled motorcycles can also be stored in drive-up units, often 10x10 or larger. Find motorcycle storage at Sanford and MIllenia.

RV Storage

Whether you like "roughing it" in your pop-up camper at Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area or prefer the plush life of a 35 ft. Class A motor home while taking in some NASCAR at Daytona International Raceway, we have the storage you need when you're not adventuring.

RV storage for fifth wheels and trailers primarily consists of outdoor, gated parking spots (up to 35 ft. or even 50 ft. in some cases), while drive-up units can accept smaller pull-behinds. Find RV storage at Sanford.

Boat Storage

Since there are so many rivers and lakes in the region, it only makes sense to have some sort of watercraft. When it comes time to take your kayak, canoe, jet ski, paddleboard, bass boat, ski boat or sailboat out of the water, Store Space has onshore storage options.

Drive-up storage units (typically 10x20 or larger) can be used for personal watercraft and portable boats, while larger boats can be safely stored in our gated outdoor parking. Find boat storage at Sanford.

What we Like About Sanford

OK, let's start with the nickname: "Celery City." What's not to like about that? Citrus farmers started growing celery in 1896 after The Great Freeze of 1894-95 killed their crop, so maybe celery saved Sanford? There's no truth to the rumor that "ants on a log" is the official snack of Sanford, though.

Since then, Sanford has grown from around 2,000 people to an estimated 61,000 in 2019, making it the third-largest city in the Greater Orlando metropolitan area. It's been an important center for citrus, a naval air station, transportation hub, and, more recently, tourism.

Here are some of the things we are looking forward to in Sanford.

Life on the Water

One of the requirements of living in Florida is owning a boat, right? If you don't have some sort of boat or watercraft in the Sanford area, you're missing out. Sanford is situated on Lake Monroe at the headwaters of the St. Johns River (and next to Lake Jessup). Sanford even has a downtown marina offering free day-use slips for area visitors.

But you don't need a boat to enjoy the water. The RiverWalk trail is a paved walkway spanning several miles in downtown along Lake Monroe. Or, you can take a cruise on the St. Johns in a paddle-wheeler with the St. Johns Rivership Co. How cool is that?

Where to Eat & Play

Historic Downtown Sanford is a tourist and nightlife destination in Sanford centered along First Street. Make a stop at one of the area's craft breweries, or dine at some of the many award-winning, international restaurants.

Hollerbach's Willow Tree Café is the area's go-to for German food, events, and polka music. Stop in the Biergarten for a little gemütlichkeit—that's German for warmth and friendliness, not a type of beer!

Other world destinations include Zorba's Greek Food, Negril Spice (Jamaican), El Zocalo Mexican, plus Korean, Pacific-inspired seafood, even an Irish pub.

Of course, there are a fair amount of American/Southern-inspired restaurants, including the Colonial Room Restaurant, The Tennessee Truffle and barbecue at Fuel BBQ, too.

More Local Adventures

Sanford isn't just eating and boating. Head over to the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens to visit more than 350 animals (from more than 100 different species).

For a brush with the wild a few minutes out of town, hike over to Black Bear Wilderness Area, a 1,600-acre park with a variety of wetland habitats. Keep an eye out for white-tailed deer, swallow-tailed kites, and of course the park's namesake, the Florida Black Bear.

History and Museums

As an important transportation center along the St. Johns River, Sanford has a rich history in central Florida. While downtown is chock full of historic buildings, there are two area museums worth checking out.

Check out the Museum Of Seminole County History to experience a wide selection of amazing artifacts on display from Native American times through early forts and settlements, up through industrial and agricultural development in the region.

Don't miss the Goldsboro Museum, which documents the history of the nation's second incorporated black township. Goldsboro only lasted from 1891 – 1911, but the museum was founded in 2009 to resurrect the town's memory.

Sanford is home to Seminole State College. The college was founded in Sanford in 1965 and has since grown to four campus locations. The school offers multiple Bachelor of Science degrees, plus Associates degrees, technical certificates, and career certificates. It's also in a partnership with University of Central Florida (in nearby Orlando) guaranteeing SSC grads admission to UCF.
